Tone-Gar Security Services Inc. (Est. 1996) is a privately owned company founded by Anthony Atkins – CEO, and Garfield Arthur – CFO. Tone-Gar launched and has grown organically with our Head Office located at 645 Westmount Road East, Unit #14, Kitchener, Ontario N2E 3S3, with our branch office located at 6900 Airport Road, Mississauga, Ontario L4V 1E8.

 

The Atkins/Arthur management philosophy focuses on a commitment to excellence in service. Tone-Gar has evolved in two strategic markets: the launch of Frontline Trauma Services in 2004 (First Responder/Paramedic/Medical & First Aid Services) and Frontline Forensic Investigations (private, corporate, and online financial investigations). The Tone-Gar Group of Companies has combined these three client services, providing professionalism and performance expertise to an ever-widening client group.

Tony Atkins,

CEO

Tony Atkins is our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a co-founder of Tone-Gar Security Services (est. 1996), Frontline Trauma Services (est. 2004) and Frontline Forensic Investigations (est. 2010). Tony is a Conestoga College alumnus, graduating from Police Foundations on the President’s Honours List and receiving an Alumnus of Distinction Award.


After graduating from college and developing Tone-Gar as a business, Tony returned to Conestoga as a Law and Security Administration Program part-time faculty member from 2010-2019, invited as a guest speaker at convocation and a current member of the colleges’ Program Advisory Committee (PAC) for over 15 years.


Tony has many professional certifications obtained over the past 25+ years in the industry. Tony was chair of the Canadian Society for Industrial Security (CSIS) and has been a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). Tony has been honoured to be interviewed by CTV News as a Security Industry Expert. Tonys’ dynamic and visionary leadership has helped propel Tone-Gar into a multi-million dollar firm.


Although there have been many business-related successes over the years, Tony’s four children, along with marrying his high school sweetheart, remain his most outstanding achievements. Tony played Jr. A hockey for the Kitchener Rangers outside the office before coaching with KMHA for +25 years and counting.

 

 

Gary Arthur is our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a co-founder of Tone-Gar Security Services Inc. (est. 1996), Frontline Trauma Services (est. 2004) and Frontline Forensic Investigations (est. 2010). Gary immigrated to Canada at the age of 10 from Trinidad & Tobago and feels blessed and grateful to call Canada home. Gary has resided in the KW/Brant regions for 40+ years and is dedicated to giving back to his community by actively volunteering with numerous charities and organizations, including the Food Bank, and fundraising for several cancer research groups.


Gary’s 30+ years in corporate sales allow him to bring a strategic yet personable approach to the security business. Drawing from these years of experience, Gary has built a reputation for his refreshingly friendly customer care and proven ability to guide clients in their security needs.
Through his sales leadership, passion and sharp attention to detail, Gary has been instrumental in growing Tone-Gar to a multi-million dollar firm and an employer of choice in the region.
In his free time, Gary enjoys going to the gym, playing golf, travelling, and, in recent years, tending to a flourishing summer vegetable garden.


A true family man, Gary currently lives in St. George with his wife, Billie-Anne in close proximity to extended family.

Ediz Kemal,

General Manager

With an unwavering passion to serve and protect his community, Ediz Kemal took on the role of General Manager (GM) at Tone-Gar Group of Companies in 2022. His journey to this leadership position began with a strong commitment to excellence, graduating with Dean's Honours from the Police Foundations program at Conestoga College in 2006.

 

Ediz's incredible career at Tone-Gar Security Services has been a tale of hard work and dedication as he climbed the ladder from being a security guard to becoming a security supervisor and then an operations manager, ultimately earning his current title as GM. Ediz has a wealth of qualifications in the security industry, including certifications in the Professional Security Training Network (PSTN), Tactical Communications, the Task Force Program, Advanced Background Interviewing Techniques, Canadian Firearms Safety Course, Close Protection, Mental Health and Awareness, Conflict and Risk Management, and more. Notably, he is also the certified Private Investigator on staff for Frontline Forensic Investigations.

 

Adding to his list of accomplishments, Ediz was recognized by SP&T News as one of Canada's Top 10 Under 40—Young Leaders in the Security Industry, which is a testament to his dedication and expertise in the field. Ediz is deeply committed to utilizing his diverse operational and business intelligence skill set to lead the way for innovation in the industry. During Ediz's free time, he enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering as a well-respected head coach for various youth teams.

 

 

Sandra Atkins, our Frontline Trauma Services Manager since 2023, has been a nurse actively working in the community for 30 years and counting. Sandra is proud of her commitment to nursing since graduating in 1994 as an RN with a BScN from McMaster University while also balancing being a mom of 4. Along with her university education, Sandra has furthered her training and is certified as a Medical First Responder (MFR) and is certified to administer Symptom Relief Training to Frontline Trauma Staff.

 

Sandra specializes in pediatric care and has vast applicable experience in patient care, communications and documenting medical information/report writing. Sandra is responsible for Frontline Trauma employee communications, scheduling, and operations. Sandra is dedicated to using her knowledge, experience, and compassionate attitude so that she can continue helping ensure our local community stays healthy and safe. After a day of hard work, Sandra looks forward to a warm welcome home from her 2 dogs, Zuko and Kylie.

Michael Lyons,

Assistant General Manager

 

Michael Lyons is the Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Tone-Gar Group of Companies, previously the security site manager at the University of Waterloo - School of Architecture from 2017-2021 for Tone-Gar Security Services Inc. Michael Lyons attended the University of Waterloo for History and Economics, before successfully completing a Crisis Management certification from Conestoga College and a Medical First Responder (MFR) certification from EMT Canada.

 

Before his time at Tone-Gar, Mike proudly recalls working with the Marsh McLennan Group of Companies as a Senior Vice President of Global Design/Construction and Director of Commercial Interior Design/Construction in EMEA. Tone-Gar benefits greatly from Mike's 25 years of global service management experience and expertise.

 

Since being promoted to AGM, Mike’s focus has been on business development, consistent delivery of client services, and prompt response to client needs. To ensure Tone-Gar stays connected to other local businesses, Mike actively participates as a member of the KW Chamber of Commerce. True to his Cowansville, Quebec heritage, if there’s a Montreal Canadiens game on after the workday is done, it’s likely Mike is somewhere yelling, ‘Go, Habs, Go’! 

 

 

Treena Didine is our Operations Manager at Tone-Gar Security Services Inc. Treena, a Kirkland Lake, ON small town northern girl at heart, graduated from the pre-hospital care (paramedicine) program at Loyalist College and the Development Disabilities program at Sheridan College. Along with her responsibilities as operations manager, Treena is a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, Frontline Trauma first responder and A-EMCA paramedic, FTS Symptom Relief Instructor and was influential in establishing Frontline Trauma Services. Treena is certified in Disaster Services, Emergency Lodging, Conflict and Confrontation, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Crowd Control Management, Risk Assessment, Active Weather and Event Management, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention and Use of Force.

 

Along with advancing her certifications, Treena has successfully attended multiple in-service training programs, including Due Diligence: Are You Covering Your Assets? Jason Gordon, Ministry of Labour (2018)’, ‘Active Shooter (Toronto Police, April 2018 and June 2018)’, ‘Respectful Workplaces, Ministry of Labour (2018)’, ‘Dealing with Risk and Uncertainty when Violence Strikes (2018)’, ‘Working Together to Build Ontario’s Next Generation Emergency Management Program (2018)’, and more.

 

Treena has made a big impact in the industry by developing and/or teaching Mental Health Awareness programs, writing First Aid Student and Instructor manuals, writing WSIB-Approved Student and Instructor manuals and Fire Warden training. With the ongoing training and years of industry experience, Treena’s skills have developed to specialize in Emergency Response, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) writing, Fire Safety Systems and Presentations.

 

Treena operates out of The International Centre in Mississauga, ON, where she currently sits as co-chair on their COVID Response Team and was declared champion of the Food Bank Challenge, helping bring a whopping 12,000 lbs of food in December 2019. When Treena’s daily work to-do list is done, she looks forward to cooking and may invite you to enjoy her delicious sous-vide rib!

Pardeep Gill,

Regional Manager

Pardeep S. Gill is a Regional Manager at Tone-Gar Security Services Inc. Pardeep began his post-secondary education at Punjab Technical University, earning a Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A.) in 2013 and a Master of Computer Application (M.C.A.) in 2015. Wanting to gain experience, Pardeep worked as an Assistant Professor at B.I.S Institute of Engineering and Technology in Punjab, India, from 2015 to 2017. To further his education, Pardeep moved from the small village of Dala in (Moga) Punjab, India, to Ontario, Canada, after being accepted to Conestoga College. At college, Pardeep earned PG Diplomas in Information Technology and Application (I.T.N.S.) in 2018 and Project Management in 2019.

 

Pardeep was a student when he joined Tone-Gar as a Security Guard in 2018 before his dedication to the job quickly earned him promotions into Mobile Patrol, Supervisor, Dispatch, and Staff Standards and Compliance Specialist positions. Pardeep has gained vast security experience, including, but is not limited to, acute/emergency healthcare facilities, long-term care facilities, educational institutions, close protection, concert/sporting/events, close protection, and retail loss prevention. Additionally, Pardeep’s qualifications include being certified as a Stay Safe Instructional Programs Trainer across all instructional disciplines. Currently, he facilitates all in-house training for over 500 students annually.

 

Pardeep consistently successfully leads a team, solves problems, communicates, and thinks critically to develop the most efficient approach to any challenges he’s faced with. These, along with many other reasons, are why Pardeep was recognized in 2022 with a Certificate of Recognition for Exemplary Service. Pardeep remains humble yet eager in his work ethic, living by the philosophy ‘if you can dream it, you can do it!’

 

 

Vishal Kumar is a Regional Manager at Tone-Gar Security Services Inc. He is proud of his Chandigarh, India, heritage. In 2013, he graduated from Panjab University with a Bachelor of Computer Applications. His interest in furthering his education in computer science resulted in him moving to Canada in 2018, where he graduated the following year from Conestoga College with a PG Diploma in Web Design and Development.

 

In 2020, Tone-Gar Security hired Vishal as a Security Guard for an emergency healthcare facility. His professionalism and leadership skills would quickly promote Vishal onto our mobile patrol and dispatch supervisor teams. Over the past 3 years, Vishal gained security experience in acute/emergency healthcare facilities, long-term care facilities, educational institutions, close protection, concert/sporting/events, close protection, and retail loss prevention. Vishal is a hard worker who remains committed to advancing his leadership and incident management skills within the security industry. When his shift is over, Vishal enjoys learning about new technological advancements, working out, playing sports, and traveling.
